At 145 Rowleys Hill, we plan to restore the church while maintaining its historical charm - and keep its adjacent graveyard maintained and open for existing families, with a long-term vision to hold special events and ceremonies.
We hope to work with local growers and farmers, to feature the best Tassie has to offer during wedding ceremonies and other bookings
Opened in 1879, Turners Marsh Uniting Church evokes a sense of pastoral in every meaning of the word. The graveyard will be transformed into a memorial garden, with seating for visitors, at the site's unmarked infant graves. Learn more about Turners Marsh Uniting Church's history
Queensland couple Michael and Debbie Rawlings - who were captivated by Tasmania’s rugged charm during their travels around the state, stumbled across the church on the hill. At the time, the property wasn't for sale, but it stayed in our minds. We officially became the new owners on December 1 2023. Owning and restoring a church has always been something we had a dream to do and we are looking forward to preserving the history and sense of community.
We are now qualified Cemetery Managers, having spent months to complete the requirements of the Tasmanian government.
